One must follow

The whole clog phenomenon sweeping the world of footwear really does tell us that if the fashion house of Chanel does it, the world will follow.

I can honestly tell you I really did not like the clogs used in Lagerfeld's new collection for Chanel.
For those of you who have forgotten, here is one of the creations:

However I stumbled across Vera Wang's version of the clog, and I must say have changed my tune.

Vera Wang Lavender Label Daisey hidden-platform clog, $325, available at Vera Wang

Instead of a literal translation of the clog, she has modernised it with buckle detail and cross over leather straps. The shape of the heel as well, gives it a bit of an edge from the traditional clog.

I agree, I really don't like the Chanel versions (something I never thought I'd say), but I love the other version!

i'm so glad you pointed out the whole "clog-mania!" i'm not a fan of it at all - however these clogs do look more like booties and i have thus changed my tune.

gorgeous shoes!

Vera Wang's interpretation are much, much better than the Chanel version. But I'm not a fan of clogs in general. I had a pair in middle school (or high school?) and I remember that they were hard to walk in!

Interesting... I'm would probably always say a firm no to a pair of clogs (at least worn in public) but this pair by Vera Wang is indeed nice. The proportions are good!
And I want to warn you (saw your earlier post), I live in Finland and we have Dinsko here... The shoes are crap quality (+ sweatshop stuff) and incredibly uncomfortable most of the time. Unfortunately.

We'll definitely be back!

I can say vera wang did a good job there but still...clogs are not my thing

agree with you on the Vera Wang's version of the clog. but i reckon it'll still be quite tricky carrying off a clog without looking like you're going to a wet market... hehe

i'm surprised that those vera wangs are not completely hideous, but i have yet to see a good looking pair of clogs.
